I’ve been living carless while I wait for my Tesla Model 3 to be built, so I consequently take a LOT of Uber and Lyft rides. Over the course of many conversations with drivers, I’ve come to realize that most of them aren’t taking advantage of all the ways they can passively make more money with Uber. And I want to help! So here’s a list of easy things you can do to make more money:
1. You need to sign up for the Sears Shop Your Way Rewards program, and link your uber account. Sears is a hot mess of a corporation and they will literally pay you hundreds of dollars in rewards points for driving on top of what you already earn for no clear reason. The current promo will pay current drivers who link their accounts up to $400/yr in rewards points ($100 max per quarter), which you can spend on anything sold by Sears or Kmart, and you get half off oil changes and services at Sears auto centers. All you have to do is link your accounts and forget about it and watch the points roll in. New drivers to Uber can make $425 + $300 in SYW points if they sign up through SYW, but I think it’s smarter to stack the existing driver SYW promo with another Uber sign on bonus.
The best thing about SYW points is they come off the bill before tax. You can literally get anything sold by Sears for $0 out of pocket. It’s super fun.

2. If you use the Acorns Investment App, they will pay you $15 to link your uber driver account. I don’t recommend using Acorns for your investments more generally, since they charge monthly fees, but if you’re already on it there’s no reason to pass this up. Acorns regularly runs very lucrative referral bonuses where they pay you to refer people to the service. In January and February they had one to invite 10 friends and get $1000 in bonus money for the referrals. Obviously this is not easy to do.
If you would like the new member $5 referral bonus as well as the $15 uber bonus, consider using my link: https://www.acorns.com/invite/QJUPU2
3. I will update this list as I come across more obscure Uber partnership offers for drivers. I also maintain a list of promos for riders. Feel free to check it out as well.
